SPレコード Records in 78rpms

レコードブーム、流行、と言われていますが、レコードのうちSPレコードは、既に過去の物、と一般的には考えられていと思います。
市販のレコードプレーヤーには33/45回転の切り替えはあっても78回転、ましてや16回転などのボタンは長い間、付いていませんでした。
SPレコードの殆どは蓄音器で聴く物でしたから、サウンドボックスと呼ばれる再生器の先端に取り付けた鉄針がレコードにかける針圧は数百グラムもありました。ですから鉄針と言えども、片面4分程度聴いたら新しい針に取り替えるのが常識でした(減ってしまう!!)。
蓄音器コンサートでは針代と称してお金を置いていくこともあったとか。
今の電気的に再生する一般的なカートリッジは2〜4グラム程度ですからレコードが痛まないわけがありません。
現存するSPレコードのうち歌謡曲や洋楽などの多くは擦り切れたように艶がなくなり、チリチリという雑音が大きくなってしまっています。
盤自体の自重も重く、材質がシェラックで割れやすく、製造品質、保管環境、取扱によって、割れたり、欠けたりすることがよくありました。接着しても溝と溝がうまく繋がらず、再生しても針飛びを起こし、最悪は針先が飛びカートリッジが壊れます。
それでもSPレコードには、往時の演奏家達の貴重な名演奏が聴ける魅力があります。
LPレコードで再販されたものとは比較にならないエネルギーを感じられます。

Generally speaking, records/vinyls are coming boom now.
But people might think the 78rpm records are out of date.
The record player/turntables that are sold now don't have 78rpm only 33/45rpm.
People think if they want to listen 78rpms, they would use phonograph.
Soundbox (means phonograph-cartridge) is used and it loads several hundreds grams on record. The stylus is worn away by single-side play and change to new one on playing each side.
So almost 78rpm records are also worn away without luster or shine.
They let us hear noise by that worn surface.
Even though we can listen many excellent performance from 78rpm.
If you use my cartridge, it will be easier than before.
