Engaging with Vintage Items (For example BV-33)ビンテージ品との関わり(BV-33を例に)

Last week a friend of mine came to see me.

He began to talk about the unpleasant guy he encountered at the auction.

He had put up a BV-33 for auction.

He doesn’t know who wrote to him, but the guy said,

"Is this real? I was once sold a fake WE618B. There are a lot of fakes out there..."

He said ,

"That's extremely rude. He says the guy was sold a fake, but the basis and circumstances are unclear. It's even more shocking that the guy would make such a ridiculous comment about an auction by someone who has nothing to do with it."

He was angry but also looked astonished.

Still, he is a serious person, so he answered the details. For the sake of fools who have no intention of bidding and other spectators who have no discerning eyes.

I told him,

"These people are the kind of people who think that something is real if someone tells them it's real, and think that something is fake if someone tells them it's fake. In the end, even if they have the real thing, they'll be told it's fake and told to let it go, and they'll sell it cheap, or they'll think the fake is real and spend a lot of money on it. It's better not to sit in the bath with such people."

Because that kind of person would not understand who’s fellow and who is enemy.

先週、友人が私のところに来ました。

彼はオークションで出会った嫌な人のことを話し始めました。彼はオークションにBV-33を出品していました。誰かは分かりませんが、その人は

「これは本物ですか？ WE618Bの偽物を掴まされたことがあります。偽物はたくさんあるんですよ…」と書いてきたそうです。

彼は

「非常に失礼です。偽物を売られたと言っているが、根拠も状況も不明です。その買い物とは何の関係もない私の出品について、そんな馬鹿げたコメントをするなんてショックです」

と言いました。

彼は怒っていましたが、驚き呆れたようでもありました。

彼はまじめな人なので、そのコメントに丁寧に答えたのだそうです。入札する気などないことも分かった上で。

このように、見分け方も知らず、経緯も知らず、誰かの言うことを鵜呑みにしていそうな人たちは、本物だと言われれば本物だと思い、偽物と言われれば偽物だと思い込むような人たちです。結局、自分で判断しないので、本物を持っていても偽物と言われて安く手放したり、偽物を本物だと思って大金を使ったりするのです。そういう人たちと一緒にならない、親しくしない方がよいでしょう。

誰が味方で誰が敵かが分からない人達だから。
